Saeed meaning
Saeed (سعید) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Happy, fortunate, prosperous; in a state of felicity
Also used to mean: blessed
Saeed (سعید) is the Arabic saʿīd, from saʿida, "to be happy, to prosper", the same root as Saad. Lane's lexicon defines it, of a man, as prosperous, fortunate and happy, in a state of felicity, whether in religion or in worldly things. In the Quran the word describes those who will be blessed on the Day of Judgement: "some of them will be wretched and some blessed" (11:105). Indian bearers include the actor Saeed Jaffrey, known for both British and Hindi films, and the filmmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza.
