Bakhtiyar meaning
Bakhtiyar (بختیار) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
Fortunate; rich
Also used to mean: lucky
Bakhtiyar (بختیار) is a Persian compound of bakht, "fortune, prosperity, happiness", and yār, "friend, companion": a person whom fortune keeps company with. Steingass's dictionary defines bakht-yār simply as fortunate and rich, which matches the meaning on name lists. In India the name recalls Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki (d. 1235), the Chishti saint whose dargah at Mehrauli in Delhi stands near the Qutb Minar, and Bakhtiyar Khalji, the general who led Turkic campaigns into Bihar and Bengal around 1200.
