Humayun meaning
Humayun (ہمایوں) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
Fortunate, auspicious; sacred; royal
Also used to mean: blessed
Humayun (ہمایوں) is the Persian word humāyūn. Steingass's Persian dictionary defines it as fortunate or auspicious, sacred and royal, and gives compounds like humāyūn-gāh, "a royal palace". It is often linked with the humā, the legendary bird whose shadow was said to bring kingship, though the dictionary entry does not make that link. In India the name belongs above all to the second Mughal emperor, Nasir-ud-din Muhammad Humayun, the son of Babur, whose tomb in Delhi is a World Heritage Site. Name lists give "fortunate" or "blessed", which matches.
