Zakariya meaning
Zakariya (زکریا) is a Muslim and international boy's name of Hebrew origin (via Arabic).
Zechariah; the Hebrew name means 'God has remembered'
Zakariya (زکریا) is the Arabic form of Zechariah, the prophet who in the Quran looks after the young Maryam in the sanctuary and, in old age, prays for a son and is given the good news of Yahya, John the Baptist (3:37–39; 19:2–7). Strong's concordance derives the Hebrew Zekaryah from zakar, "to remember", and Yah, a short form of God's name, and glosses it "Jah has remembered". The Arabic root dh-k-r, "to remember", seen in Zakir, is related. Name lists agree on "God has remembered".
