Jabbar meaning
Jabbar (جبار) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Mighty, huge; of a man, proud or overbearing; al-Jabbar, God the Compeller
Also used to mean: powerful
Jabbar (جبار) is Arabic jabbār, from the root j-b-r, which joins the ideas of setting a broken bone and of force. Lane's lexicon shows the word has two faces. Said of a man it means proud, overbearing or tyrannical; said of God, al-Jabbār is the Compeller, who makes all creation do His will, also explained as the Most High and as the One who restores the poor. The Quran lists al-Jabbār among God's names (59:23), and in India the name is usually short for Abdul Jabbar, "servant of the Compeller".
