Fakhir meaning
Fakhir (فاخر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Glorying; superb, excellent, of excellent quality; honourable, distinguished
Also used to mean: proud, splendid
Fakhir (فاخر) is the Arabic active participle of fakhara, "to glory", from the same root as fakhr, "glory". Lane's lexicon gives it as glorying, and, of a thing, superb or grand, good and of excellent quality. Steingass's Persian entry adds precious, valuable, honourable and distinguished, and cites khilʿat-i fākhira, the rich robe that princes presented to those they wished to honour. Name lists give "excellent" or "proud". As a name it is taken in the sense of excellence and distinction rather than boasting.
