Yasir meaning
Yasir (یاسر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Easy and gentle, tractable; also one who divides into portions
Also used to mean: wealthy
Yasir (یاسر) is the Arabic yāsir, from the root y-s-r, "to be easy". Lane gives it as easy and gentle, tractable or manageable, said of a man or a horse. He also records an old sense, one who divides the meat in the pre-Islamic arrow game al-maysir. Name lists today give Yasir as "easy" and also as "wealthy" or "prosperous". The same root gives mūsir, which Lane glosses as "rich, wealthy, opulent", but his entry for yāsir itself does not carry that sense. The related yusr, "ease", appears in the Quran's assurance that with hardship comes ease (94:5). Yāsir ibn ʿĀmir, father of the companion ʿAmmār, was among the earliest Muslims and died under persecution in Mecca.
