Yashpal meaning
Yashpal (यशपाल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Name of a prince; yaśas + pāla, 'protector of fame'
Yashpal (यशपाल) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit yaśaḥpāla, which Monier-Williams records as the name of a prince and of the author of the Moharājaparājaya, a medieval allegorical play. The parts are yaśas, "fame, glory, honour", and pāla, "guard, protector, keeper", the same word that ends names such as Gopal and Dharampal. Name lists give it as "protector of fame", which fits its parts. The name is used in North India, and its bearers include Yashpal (1903–1976), the Hindi novelist and revolutionary, and Yashpal Sharma, a member of India's 1983 World Cup–winning cricket team.
