Tejendra meaning
Tejendra (तेजेन्द्र) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (compound). By its first sound, ते, it is a Tula rashi name (Vishakha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Chief or lord of splendour (tejas + indra)
Also used to mean: Lord Sun, king of radiance
Tejendra (तेजेन्द्र) joins two Sanskrit words. Tejas is the glow of fire or light, and also fiery energy, spirit and majesty; -indra, the name of the king of the gods, means "the chief" or "the best" when it ends a compound, as in Rajendra and Surendra. Together they give "chief of splendour" or "lord of radiance". Name lists usually give "Lord Sun" or "king of radiance": the second is the plain sense, and the first is a reading of it, since the compound itself is not a recorded name of the sun. The Punjabi form of the same name is Tejinder.
