Rafay meaning
Rafay (رافع) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who raises or exalts; an epithet of God, the Exalter
Also used to mean: exalted, elevated
Rafay (رافع) is the South Asian spelling of Arabic rāfiʿ, the active participle of rafaʿa, "to raise". Lane's lexicon gives rāfiʿ simply as raising, and records al-Rāfiʿ as one of the names of God, the Exalter, who raises the believer by prospering him. The Quran uses the word when God tells Jesus, "I will take you and raise you to Myself" (3:55). Name lists give Rafay as "exalted" or "elevated"; strictly the word means the one who raises rather than the one raised, which is Rafi (rafīʿ). The full form Abdul Rafay, "servant of the Exalter", is also used.
