Rahat meaning
Rahat (راحت) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Rest, repose, ease; relief from toil or trouble
Also used to mean: comfort
Rahat (راحت) is the Urdu form of Arabic rāḥa, from the root r-w-ḥ, which also gives rūḥ, "spirit", and rīḥ, "wind". Lane's lexicon defines rāḥa as rest, repose or ease, the opposite of weariness, and as the ceasing of trouble and fatigue. In Urdu rāḥat is an everyday word for comfort and relief, as in rāḥat milnā, "to find relief". Name lists give Rahat as "comfort" or "rest". Well-known bearers include the Urdu poet Rahat Indori and the singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It is mostly a boys' name in India, occasionally given to girls.
