Waqar meaning
Waqar (وقار) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Gravity, staidness, calm steadiness; dignity
Also used to mean: honour, majesty
Waqar (وقار) is the Arabic waqār, from waqura, "to be grave, sedate". Lane's lexicon defines it as gravity, staidness, steadiness and calmness, the same as razāna, "composure", ḥilm, "forbearance", and sakīna, "tranquillity". The Quran uses the word of the reverence due to God: "What is the matter with you that you do not hope for dignity from God?" (71:13). In Urdu it is the everyday word for dignity, honour and standing. Name lists give "dignity" and "honour".
