Malhari meaning
Malhari (मल्हारी) is a Hindu boy's name of Marathi origin (from Sanskrit mallāri).
An incarnation of Shiva, also called Khandoba or Khanderao
Also used to mean: enemy of the demon malla
Malhari (मल्हारी) is a name of Khandoba, the warrior form of Shiva worshipped across Maharashtra and northern Karnataka, above all at Jejuri near Pune. Molesworth's Marathi dictionary gives mallāri, with the popular forms malhārī and malhār, as an incarnation of Shiva also called Khandoba or Khanderao. The Sanskrit mallāri means "enemy of Malla", and Monier-Williams records it as a name of Krishna and of Shiva; in the Khandoba legend the god takes the name after slaying the demon Malla. It is a traditional name among families who honour Khandoba as their kuldaivat.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
