Maruti meaning
Maruti (मारुति) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi usage). By its first sound, मा, it is a Simha rashi name (Magha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Son of the wind god; a name of Hanuman, also of Bhima
Also used to mean: Lord Hanuman
Maruti (मारुति) is a Sanskrit patronymic from Marut, the wind or the wind god, so it means "son of the wind". Monier-Williams records it as a name of Hanuman, whose father is the wind god Vayu, and also of Bhima in the Mahabharata, who is likewise Vayu's son. In Maharashtra Hanuman is very often called Maruti, and the Marathi hymn "Bhimarupi Maharudra" by Samarth Ramdas, known as the Maruti Stotra, is widely recited. Name lists give "son of the wind" or "Lord Hanuman", matching the dictionary. In the South the name is often written Maruthi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Hanuman.
