Nandish meaning
Nandish (नन्दीश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Shiva; an attendant of Shiva
Also used to mean: lord of joy, lord shiva
Nandish (नन्दीश) is Sanskrit nandīśa, which Monier-Williams records as the name of an attendant of Shiva and, following Wilson, of Shiva himself. The dictionary takes it, with some hesitation, as Nandi with īśa, "lord", so the sense is "lord of Nandi": Shiva as master of his bull-attendant. Name lists often give "lord of joy", reading the first part as nanda, "joy". That is a natural modern reading, but the recorded sense is Shiva. The spellings Nandeesh and Nandeesha are used in Karnataka.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
