Nanjunda meaning
Nanjunda (नंजुंड) is a Hindu boy's name of Kannada origin.
Śiva; literally 'he who ate the poison'
Also used to mean: one who consumed poison, Lord Shiva
Nanjunda (नंजुंड, Kannada ನಂಜುಂಡ) is a Kannada name of Shiva. It is made from nañju, "poison", and uṇḍa, "one who ate", and recalls the story of the churning of the ocean, when Shiva swallowed the deadly halahala poison to save the world. Kittel's dictionary lists nañjuṇḍa and Nañjuṇḍēśvara as names of Shiva. The god is worshipped as Nanjundeshwara at Nanjangud near Mysuru, and the name, often as Nanjundaswamy or Nanjundappa, is a traditional one in southern Karnataka.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
