Bharadwaj meaning
Bharadwaj (भारद्वाज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, भा, it is a Dhanu rashi name (Mula nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A Vedic seer; a skylark; 'bearing speed or strength'
Also used to mean: a great vedic sage
Bharadwaj (भारद्वाज) recalls Bharadvāja, one of the great seers of the Ṛg-veda. Monier-Williams explains the Sanskrit bharad-vāja as "bearing speed or strength (of flight)" and gives it as a word for the skylark and as the name of the Ṛṣi credited with hymns of the sixth book of the Ṛg-veda, counted among the seven sages. Baby-name lists give the name as "a great Vedic sage". In much of India Bharadwaj is a surname or gotra name, but in South India it is also used as a first name.
