Burhanuddin meaning
Burhanuddin (برہان الدین) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Proof of the faith (burhān, proof + dīn, religion)
Burhanuddin (برہان الدین) joins Arabic burhān, which Lane's lexicon defines as a proof or decisive evidence, and dīn, religion, from a root meaning obedience. Burhān al-Dīn, "proof of the faith", began as an honorific for scholars and saints and became a given name; name lists give the same meaning. In India it is closely associated with Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (1915–2014), the 52nd Dai al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra community, and with the 14th-century Chishti saint Burhanuddin Gharib of Khuldabad, after whom the city of Burhanpur is named.
