Sulaiman meaning
Sulaiman (سلیمان) is a Muslim boy's name of Hebrew origin (via Arabic).
Solomon; the Hebrew name is explained as 'peaceful'
Also used to mean: man of peace
Sulaiman (سلیمان) is the Arabic and Urdu form of Solomon, the son of David, whom the Quran honours as a prophet and king, given knowledge, the speech of birds and power over the wind; "Sulayman inherited from Dawud" (27:16). Strong's concordance derives the Hebrew Shelomoh from shalom and explains it as "peaceful", which matches the meaning on most name lists. Steingass gives sulaimān as Solomon and the phrase sulaimān-i zamān, "the Solomon, or oracle, of the age". The Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent bore the Turkish form.
