Siddiq meaning
Siddiq (صدیق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Eminently truthful; one who always speaks and confirms the truth
Also used to mean: righteous, trustworthy
Siddiq (صدیق) is the Arabic ṣiddīq, an intensive form from ṣadaqa, "to speak the truth". Lane's lexicon defines it as one who speaks the truth much or always, stronger in meaning than ṣadūq, and also as one who fully confirms the truth. The Quran calls the prophet Ibrahim "a man of truth, a prophet", ṣiddīqan nabiyyā (19:41), and Yusuf is addressed as aṣ-ṣiddīq (12:46). Al-Siddiq is the honorific of Abu Bakr, the Prophet's closest companion and the first caliph.
