Moin meaning
Moin (معین) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A helper, one who aids or assists
Moin (معین) is the Arabic muʿīn, "helper", from aʿāna, which Lane's lexicon explains as to aid, help or assist someone, with ʿawn meaning aid or help. Lane quotes a prayer that runs "O my Lord, aid me, and aid not against me". Name lists give Moin as "helper" or "supporter", matching the dictionary. It is used on its own and in Moinuddin, "helper of the faith", the name of the Sufi saint of Ajmer. Muin, Moeen and Mueen are other spellings.
