Lateef meaning
Lateef (لطیف) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Gentle, gracious, kindly; subtle; refined in manners
Lateef (لطیف) is the Arabic laṭīf. Lane's lexicon defines it as gentle, gracious, courteous or kindly, and also subtle, knowing the fine and hidden points of things, and refined in manners; the noun luṭf means gentleness and graciousness. Al-Laṭīf is one of the names of God in the Quran, as in 67:14, where it is usually rendered "the Most Subtle". Name lists give the name as "gentle" or "kind". The form Abdul Lateef is also used. The Sindhi Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is a famous bearer.
