Zain meaning
Zain (زین) is a Muslim and international boy's name of Arabic origin.
The opposite of disgrace or unsightliness; an ornament, adornment
Zain (زین) is the Arabic zayn, from the root z-y-n. Lane defines it as the opposite of shayn, whatever disgraces a thing or makes it unsightly, and equates it with zīna, an ornament or anything one is adorned with. So zayn is beauty in the sense of what graces and adorns. The related zīna occurs in the Quran at 18:46, which calls wealth and children the adornment of the life of this world. Name lists today give Zain as "beauty" or "grace", in line with the dictionary. The word often forms part of honorific names, as in Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn, "ornament of the worshippers", borne by ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn, the fourth Shia imam, and by the fifteenth-century sultan of Kashmir who founded its shawl industry.
