Jamal meaning
Jamal (جمال) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Beauty of person; goodness of action and behaviour
Jamal (جمال) is the Arabic jamāl, from the root j-m-l. Lane defines it as beauty or comeliness of person and goodness of action and behaviour, sometimes of moral character as well, so the word covers both how someone looks and how they act. The related adjective jamīl, "beautiful, goodly", appears in a hadith Lane quotes, which he explains as describing God as comely in his deeds and loving those of like character. Name lists give Jamal as "beauty", which matches the dictionary. The word often begins compound names such as Jamāl al-Dīn, "beauty of the faith", borne by the 19th-century reformer Jamāl al-Dīn al-Afghānī.
