Jamil meaning
Jamil (جمیل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Beautiful, handsome, pleasing in looks, conduct or character
Jamil (جمیل) is Arabic jamīl, from the root j-m-l, "beauty", the same root as Jamal and Jameela. Lane's lexicon defines it as beautiful or comely, and stresses that the beauty can be in a person's conduct and character as much as in looks; he quotes the saying that God is beautiful and loves beauty. The Quran speaks of ṣabrun jamīl, "beautiful patience" (12:18), the patience of Yaqub. Name lists give "beautiful" or "handsome", which matches. Indian families often spell it Jameel, and it also appears in Abdul Jamil.
