Kashif meaning
Kashif (کاشف) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who uncovers or reveals; one who removes grief
Also used to mean: revealer, discoverer
Kashif (کاشف) is the Arabic kāshif, the active participle of kashafa, "to uncover". Lane's lexicon explains kashafa as uncovering, unveiling or revealing a thing, looking into it closely, and also removing or dispelling grief; the related mukāshif means "a discoverer, a revealer". The Quran uses the word in 6:17, which says that if God touches a person with harm, none can remove it but Him. Name lists give Kashif as "revealer" or "discoverer", which matches the dictionary. It is used by Muslim families in India and Pakistan.
