Jauhar meaning
Jauhar (جوہر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (from Persian Urdu usage).
A jewel or gem; the essence or substance of a thing
Jauhar (جوہر) is the Arabic jawhar, a word the Arabs took from Persian gauhar. Lane's lexicon defines it as jewels, gems and pearls, as the wavy grain on a fine sword blade, and as the essence or inner substance of a thing; philosophers used it for "substance" as opposed to accident. In Urdu jauhar means both a gem and a person's real worth, as in jauhar dikhānā, "to show one's mettle". Name lists give "jewel" or "essence", which matches. The freedom fighter Maulana Mohammad Ali took Jauhar as his pen name.
