Rizwan meaning
Rizwan (رضوان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Good pleasure, contentment; also the keeper of Paradise
Rizwan (رضوان) is the Urdu pronunciation of the Arabic riḍwān, a verbal noun of raḍiya, "he was pleased, content", from the root r-ḍ-w. It means good pleasure, contentment or approval. In the Quran it is used above all of God's approval: in 9:72, after describing the gardens promised to believers, the verse says that approval from God is greater still. Lane also gives Riḍwān as the name of the treasurer or guardian of Paradise. Name lists today give Rizwan as "pleasure", "satisfaction" or "the keeper of Paradise", in line with the dictionary. In Persian and Urdu the Arabic letter ḍād is said as z, so Riḍwān becomes Rizwan; in Arabic-speaking countries the name is usually written Ridwan.
