Faisal meaning
Faisal (فیصل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A judge, one who decides; an arbiter
Faisal (فیصل) is the Arabic fayṣal, from faṣala, "he separated, divided", from the root f-ṣ-l. Lane glosses fayṣal as a judge, one who decides, an arbiter. The same root gives faṣl, "decision", and the Quran calls the Day of Judgement yawm al-faṣl, "the Day of Decision" (37:21). Name lists today give Faisal as "judge" or "decisive", in line with the dictionary. In modern history the name is best known from King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who reigned from 1964 to 1975 and pressed for economic and educational reform. Faysal and Feisal are other spellings of the same name.
