Faiq meaning
Faiq (فائق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Superior, excellent, surpassing; choice and pure of its kind
Faiq (فائق) is the Arabic active participle of fāqa, "to surpass, rise above", from the root f-w-q, which also gives fawq, "above". Lane's lexicon defines fāʾiq as superior, excellent or surpassing, and as anything choice and pure of its kind; its example huwa fāʾiq fī al-ʿilm means "he excels in knowledge". Steingass gives the Persian sense as superior, super-excellent and paramount. Name lists give "superior" or "excellent", matching the dictionaries. The feminine form, Faiqa, is used for girls.
