Dilawar meaning
Dilawar (دلاور) is a Muslim and Sikh boy's name of Persian origin.
Bold, warlike, brave
Also used to mean: courageous
Dilawar (دلاور) is Persian dil-āwar, built on dil, "heart". Steingass's dictionary defines it as bold, warlike and brave, which is the meaning name lists give; the dictionary's own examples use it for valiant soldiers and gallant commanders. The name is used by both Muslim and Sikh families in north India and Pakistan. A notable bearer was Dilawar Khan Ghuri, the Delhi Sultanate's governor of Malwa, who made the province independent around 1401 and founded the Malwa Sultanate.
