Moinuddin meaning
Moinuddin (معین الدین) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Helper of the faith
Moinuddin (معین الدین) joins the Arabic muʿīn, "helper", and dīn, "faith". Lane's lexicon explains aʿāna as to aid, help or assist, and dīn as obedience and religion, especially the religion of Islam, so the name means "helper of the faith". In India it is closely tied to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (d. 1236), the Sufi saint whose shrine at Ajmer is visited by people of all faiths. Name lists give the meaning as "helper" or "supporter of the faith". Muinuddin and Moeenuddin are other spellings.
