Haroon meaning
Haroon (ہارون) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic form of Hebrew Aharon origin (Urdu usage).
The prophet Aaron, brother of Musa; Hebrew meaning uncertain
Also used to mean: exalted, mountain
Haroon (ہارون) is Hārūn, the Quranic name of the prophet Aaron, the elder brother of Musa (Moses). In the Quran Musa asks God for a helper from his family, "Harun, my brother" (20:30), and Harun is honoured as a prophet in his own right. The name comes from Hebrew Aharon, which Strong's Concordance says is of uncertain derivation, so the meanings on name lists, such as "mountain" or "exalted", have no firm basis. The best-known later bearer is the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid of the Thousand and One Nights.
