Hidayat meaning
Hidayat (ہدایت) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu and Persian usage).
Guidance, direction to the right way
Hidayat (ہدایت) is the Arabic word hidāya, "guidance", pronounced hidāyat in Urdu and Persian. It comes from hadā, which Lane's lexicon explains as guiding someone to the right way; the same root gives Hadi and hudā, "right guidance". Steingass's Persian dictionary defines hidāyat as guidance or direction, physical or spiritual, notes that it is the title of the well-known Hanafi law book al-Hidāya, and records it as a common man's name. In India it is used alone and in Hidayatullah, "guidance of God", the name of Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah.
