Kamesh meaning
Kamesh (कामेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, का, it is a Mithun rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Kāma 'desire, love' + īśa 'lord': lord of desire
Kamesh (कामेश) joins kāma and īśa. Kāma is "wish, desire, longing", also "love", and Kāma is the god of love; īśa means "master, lord". The name therefore reads "lord of desire", which is how name lists give it. Monier-Williams does not list kāmeśa on its own, but it records the fuller form kāmeśvara as a name of Kubera, the god of wealth. Name lists link Kamesh with Kāma or with Shiva. Kameshwar, the longer form, is a related name in its own right.
