Vaidyanath meaning
Vaidyanath (वैद्यनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Lord of physicians; a form of Shiva; a celebrated Linga
Also used to mean: Lord Shiva
Vaidyanath (वैद्यनाथ) joins Sanskrit vaidya, "physician, one learned in medicine", and nātha, "lord". Monier-Williams gives vaidyanātha as "lord of physicians", as a form of Shiva known from inscriptions, as a name of Dhanvantari, the divine physician, and as the name of a celebrated Shiva liṅga and the district around it. That shrine is the Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga, worshipped at Deoghar in Jharkhand, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Name lists give the name as "lord of physicians" or "Lord Shiva", matching the dictionary. In the east it is written Baidyanath, in Tamil Nadu Vaidyanathan, and in Maharashtra Vaijnath.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
