Vaikunth meaning
Vaikunth (वैकुंठ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Vishnu (Krishna) and of Indra; Vishnu's heaven
Also used to mean: abode of Vishnu, Lord Vishnu
Vaikunth (वैकुंठ) is the Sanskrit vaikuṇṭha. Monier-Williams gives it as a name of Vishnu or Krishna, used in the Mahābhārata and Harivaṃśa, and earlier as a name of Indra, and above all as Vishnu's heaven, which the Purāṇas place in the northern ocean or on the eastern peak of Mount Meru. Vaikuntha Ekadashi, when the "gate of Vaikuntha" is opened in Vishnu temples, is one of the major festivals of South India. Name lists give the name as "abode of Vishnu" or "heaven", matching the dictionary. Devotional writers often explain the word as "the place free from anxiety", but that derivation is not in Monier-Williams.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
