Ramesh meaning
Ramesh (रमेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Lord of Ramā (Lakshmi), that is, Vishnu
Ramesh (रमेश) is the Sanskrit rameśa, "lord of Ramā", from ramā and īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams gives Ramā as a name of Lakṣmī, goddess of fortune, and also as good luck, splendour and opulence; elsewhere it describes Lakṣmī as the wife of Viṣṇu. The lord of Ramā is therefore Vishnu, and Indian name lists give Ramesh as a name of Vishnu or "lord of Lakshmi", which matches. The name has nothing to do with Rāma, the hero of the Rāmāyaṇa, though the two sound alike: Ramā here is the goddess, with a long final vowel.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
