Pradyot meaning
Pradyot (प्रद्योत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Radiance, light; a ray of light
Pradyot (प्रद्योत) is the Sanskrit pradyota, from pra-dyut, "to shine forth". Monier-Williams gives it as radiance and light, and as a ray of light. The name has a long royal history: Pradyota was the king of Avanti, ruling from Ujjayini, in the time of the Buddha, and the Puranas name a Pradyota dynasty after him. Name lists give "light" or "radiance", the same as the dictionary. The name is used across India, including Bengal and Tripura.
