Prithvi meaning
Prithvi (पृथ्वी) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The earth, 'the broad one'; the earth goddess; land
Prithvi (पृथ्वी) is the Sanskrit word for the earth, pṛthivī, literally "the broad and extended one", from pṛthu, "broad". Monier-Williams gives it as the earth or wide world, personified as a goddess and often invoked together with the sky, and also as land or soil and as earth, one of the classical elements. In the Vedas Pṛthivī is a mother goddess, which is why the Sanskrit word is feminine; as a modern name, though, Prithvi is mostly given to boys, and it also forms longer names such as Prithviraj, "king of the earth". Name lists give Prithvi as "earth", which matches the dictionary.
