Pitambar meaning
Pitambar (पीतांबर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, पी, it is a Kanya rashi name (Uttara Phalguni nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Dressed in yellow garments; a name of Vishnu-Krishna
Pitambar (पीतांबर) is the Sanskrit pītāmbara, from pīta, "yellow", and ambara, "garment". Because ambara can also mean the sky, a few name lists read the name differently, but the dictionary sense is clothing. Monier-Williams gives pītāmbara as an adjective for someone dressed in yellow and as a name of Viṣṇu-Kṛṣṇa in Jayadeva's Gītagovinda, where Krishna is the god in yellow robes. The same entry records it for a dancer or actor, for a religious mendicant in yellow, and as the name of several men and authors. It is a traditional name, and is also written पीताम्बर.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
