Himadri meaning
Himadri (हिमाद्रि) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The Himalaya mountain
Also used to mean: snow-capped mountain, the Himalayas
Himadri (हिमाद्रि) is a poetic Sanskrit name for the Himalaya. It joins hima, "snow, frost", with adri, "mountain", so it means "the snow mountain", and Monier-Williams records it simply as the Himālaya mountain, used in classical poetry and the Kathāsaritsāgara. Name lists give "snow-capped mountain" or "the Himalayas", which matches. In mythology the Himalaya is the father of Pārvatī, who is called Himādrijā, "daughter of the snow mountain". The name is mostly given to boys.
