Prashant meaning
Prashant (प्रशांत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Tranquil, calm, quiet, composed; auspicious
Prashant (प्रशांत) is the Sanskrit praśānta, from pra-śam, "to become calm, to be still", the same root as śānti, "peace". Monier-Williams gives it as calm, quiet, composed and tranquil, and also as something that has died down, like a fire or a quarrel. In Hindi the Pacific Ocean is called the Prashant Mahasagar, "the calm ocean". Name lists give "calm" or "peaceful", the same as the dictionary. The name is used across India and is written Prashanth or Prasanth in the South.
