Moksh meaning

Moksh (मोक्ष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, मो, it is a Simha rashi name (Purva Phalguni nakshatra) in the North Indian table.

Liberation, release; final emancipation from rebirth

Moksh (मोक्ष) is Sanskrit mokṣa, from the root muc, "to free" or "to release". Monier-Williams gives it as emancipation and release, and above all as final release from worldly existence and the cycle of rebirth. Britannica explains that the idea of moksha, liberation from saṃsāra, is shared by Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, which differ on what binds the self and how freedom is reached; in Advaita Vedānta, for example, liberation is a change in how reality is seen rather than a journey elsewhere. Name lists give Moksh as "liberation" or "salvation", in line with the dictionary. Hindi drops the final short a of the Sanskrit, giving Moksh.
