Kirit meaning
Kirit (किरीट) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A diadem, crest, crown, tiara
Kirit (किरीट) is Sanskrit kirīṭa, which Monier-Williams gives as a diadem or crest, any ornament worn as a crown, a tiara. The related kirīṭin, "wearing a diadem", is a name of Indra and of Arjuna, who received a crown from Indra and counts Kirīṭī among his ten names in the Mahābhārata. Name lists give "crown", which matches the dictionary. Kireet is an alternative spelling.
