Uttar meaning
Uttar (उत्तर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Upper, higher; northern; later; superior; an answer; name of Virata's son
Uttar (उत्तर) is the Sanskrit uttara, the comparative of ud, "up", so its root sense is "higher". Monier-Williams gives it as upper or higher, northern (the north being thought of as the higher region), later, and superior or excellent; as a neuter noun it means "an answer", the sense it has in everyday Hindi. In the Mahābhārata, Uttara is the young prince of King Virāṭa, at whose court the Pāṇḍavas spend their year in disguise, and for whom Arjuna drives into battle as charioteer; his sister Uttarā marries Arjuna's son Abhimanyu. Name lists give "north", "answer" or "superior".
