Chandrasen meaning
Chandrasen (चंद्रसेन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Name of a prince in the Mahabharata; candra, 'moon', + senā, 'army'
Chandrasen (चंद्रसेन) joins Sanskrit candra, "moon", with senā, which Monier-Williams gives as an army or armed force and, in older texts, a dart or spear. The dictionary records Candrasena as the name of a prince in the Mahābhārata and of a hero in the Vīracarita. In the Shiva Purāṇa a King Chandrasena of Ujjain is the devotee in the story of the Mahakaleshwar shrine, and the Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu community of Maharashtra takes its name from a legendary king Chandrasena. The name is used mainly in Maharashtra and North India.
