Sivaraman meaning
Sivaraman (சிவராமன்) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name.
Shiva and Rama joined in one name
Sivaraman (சிவராமன்) joins the names of two gods, Shiva and Rama, with the Tamil masculine ending -an. Monier-Williams gives śiva first as auspicious, gracious or kind, and then as the name of the god; the Tamil Lexicon lists irāmaṉ for Rama, the hero of the Ramayana, and Monier-Williams gives rāma itself as pleasing or charming. Joining a Shaiva and a Vaishnava name in this way is a South Indian custom that honours both traditions. A famous bearer is Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, the mridangam maestro.
