Kedarnath meaning
Kedarnath (केदारनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, के, it is a Mithun rashi name (Punarvasu nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord of Kedāra, a name of Śiva worshipped in the Himalayas
Also used to mean: lord shiva
Kedarnath (केदारनाथ) joins kedāra and nātha, "protector, lord". Monier-Williams gives kedāra first as a field or meadow, especially a flooded one, and then as the name of a Himalayan mountain country and of Śiva as worshipped there. The name therefore means "lord of Kedāra", which is how Shiva is known at the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the Char Dham shrines. Name lists give simply "Lord Shiva". The Hindi poet Kedarnath Singh, a Jnanpith Award winner, carried the name.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
