Akul meaning
Akul (अकुल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A name of Shiva; (adj.) without family
Also used to mean: Lord Shiva, beyond lineage
Akul (अकुल) is Sanskrit akula, formed from a-, "without", and kula, "family, lineage". Monier-Williams records two uses. As an ordinary adjective it means "not of good family", but as a masculine noun the old lexicons give it as a name of Śiva, and the feminine akulā as a name of Pārvatī. The name is used in the second sense: baby-name lists give it as a name of Shiva, sometimes explained as "beyond lineage", the god who stands outside any family line. It is short, easy to spell, and used across North India.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
